I expected this to be a mousse - to be more light and fluffy like a foam, but it was definitely a cream. TIGI Curls Rock Amplifier is a white cream that is creamy and I felt it was pretty sticky. Smell: The smell is light, perhaps slightly floral. Smells like a salon hair product. Overall, it's not overwhelming or unpleasant in any way. How I Use: I used this like a gel. I used it over a quarter size amount of Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in conditioner. My hair goes down about 10 inches below my shoulders. I also tried it alongside some of my Kinky Curly Custard at one point. Results: On it's own, over a leave-in conditioner, I wasn't totally impressed. I didn't feel like I had any more definition than usual. It didn't dry out my hair or cause any damage, but I didn't really see any improvements. It's my goal to use the product in the evening/at night, then sleep on it and wake up ready to wear my hair down with only the need for a light refresher or some water to revive my waves. But using this with no other styling product, I felt the need to wear my hair up the next day because I didn't feel like it created an even, defined look for my curls. Using it with my Kinky Curly Custard, I felt like it helped create a bit of definition, but I give most of that credit to the custard. 3 out of 5 Stars |
